About Our Patches

Q. How are these patches made?
A. Patches offered are professionally manufactured for the commercial trade. These are not home-machine embroidered.

Q. Are they washable?
A. With rare exception, which will be noted in the description, all these iron on patches and hot fix appliques are machine washable and can be machine dried. For the greatest wear, please turn your garments inside out when washing to avoid catching edges on zippers or buttons. Do not use hot water or a hot dryer as these can melt the adhesive. Of course, if you sew on your patch, this is no longer an issue.

All patches can also be dry cleaned with the exception of any with vinyl material which could be damaged by the dry cleaning solution.

Q. How are they sized?
A. Sizes are quoted by the width first, and then the height in inches. PLEASE NOTE: Sizes may vary by 1 - 2mm due to slight changes in the manufacturing process and rounding. If size is critical to your application, please contact us.

Applying a Patch

Q. How do I apply my patches?
A. General instructions will be included with your order. Click here for detailed instructions. 

The MOST secure way to attach a patch and ensure permanency is by sewing them on. It is the recommended method for any item that will be washed frequently.

Iron-ons are a wonderful convenience. If properly applied, they are fully washable. However, please require that you use your judgment depending on the fabric you are using them on and how they will be worn! Again, with many patches, you do not need to have a sewing machine. A few well placed hand stitches will usually suffice.

While designed to take the heat of commercial presses, they do not take kindly to hot water and the hot cycle in a dryer. Trying to place them on a stress point (like an elbow!) is not recommended unless you sew them on.

Some fabric glues can be used. When we find a product we like, we'll add it to the site.

Hot Fix Appliques - Same rules apply as for iron ons. While gorgeous, they do require extra care when applied.

Stick On Patches - these are best suited for temporary applications. We do not carry a lot, but certain patches are only offered as stick-ons. The nice part is that most can be reused several times - so you can change how you use them. Again, for permanency, please hand or machine stitch them in place.

Order Status & Your Shopping Cart

Q: How can I view the status of my order?
A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view.

Q: How long do items remain in my shopping cart?
A: Presently for a period of up to 96 hours. So if you can't complete your order immediately, your information will be held for your return. NOTE: This applies to registered members only - another reason to open a secure buying account with 1 Ferrets Treasures.

Order Problems - Addresses

Q: The shopping cart won't accept my countries address. How can I place an order?
A: The shopping cart requires a state (or county), a postal code, and for guest orders, a telephone number. To bypass the system, just enter an X in those fields not needed in your address.  If you continue to have trouble, just save your shopping cart and please contact us.

Q: How long do items remain in my shopping cart?

Payment Policies

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept US Dollar credit card transactions and payments through PayPal which allows you to complete your purchase immediately, securely and safely. You do not need to have an account with PayPal to use them. Through PayPal we can accept debit or credit card payments; electronic checks or, if you open an account with them, instant transfers from your bank - all without cost to you. 

International payments are accepted in US Dollars. Your credit card company can make the appropriate currency conversion.

We also accept personal checks or money orders - in US Funds only. We will hold your order for up to 10 days pending arrival of your payment after which we reserve the right to cancel your order as some items are in limited supply. If you need longer, please contact us.

We also reserve the right to hold shipments until electronic or personal checks clear - usually with 3 to 5 business days - though it may be longer for international money orders. We will advise you when payment clears and when we ship.

If mailing your payment, please send a copy of your invoice along with your payment to ensure we can fill your order promptly. We always confirm - via email - receipt of your payment.

Miscellaneous

Q: What is your ferrets name? And why a ferret?
A: Bismark, who always LOVED to shop for potential treasures everywhere in the house - especially inside paper bags from the grocery; and any crinkly bag from the mall. What he found, he happily took off to his treasure stash. As a good friend and tireless "shopper" he became the inspiration for our store name. Sadly he has passed on but lives on in our hearts and logo.

Shipping

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: There are none provided you meet our $15 minimum order! We ship US Postal Service first class mail to any US address. We ship to Canada and worldwide via air letter post.

If you do not meet the minimum order, a $3.00 handling charge will be added to your order.

Q: When will you ship?
A: All items are in stock. We ship daily, including Saturdays. If there is a delay for any reason, we will contact you immediately via email.

Q. When can I expect delivery?
A. Delivery times can vary. Please allow at least 7 to 10 days for a domestic order; 10 to 20 days for an international order.

Q. I need it faster! Can I get it quicker?
A. We offer standard (First Class) or an upgrade to Priority shipping upgrades during the order process. If you need Express or Overnight Mail service, please contact us for a quotation and confirm we can meet your need for expedited service.

Q. Is my parcel insured?
A. All US addressed parcels with a delivery confirmation available will be insured against non-delivery. All parcels are sent in protective packaging. International buyers in most countries can purchase delivery insurance for a small fee from the Shipping Upgrades category. If insurance is not available for your country, a refund will be issued.

Q. What addresses can't have delivery confirmation added?
A. Certain APO/FPO addresses cannot have delivery confirmed. Also if your address is incomplete, the USPS may not be able to confirm delivery. Please check your shipping address information carefully!

Q. My envelope/box/plastic bag was reused! Why?
A. 1 Ferrets Treasures is committed to recycling. As long as the packaging is clean and secure, we will reuse what we can. It only makes good environmental sense to do so.

Additional Quantities and Custom Orders

Q: I need more than you have listed. Can you get more?
A: If our inventory is low, contact us with your needs. We may have more in stock, but not listed. If not, we will check how long it will take to obtain more.

Please provide the SKU number of the item/s and how quickly you need it for a prompt reply. We will let you know if we cannot reorder an item or if it has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you are looking for a particular design or size, we are happy to check our various sources for it.

Q. I need a "xxx" patch. Can you get it for us?
A. We LOVE to help! Please describe the item or send a picture and let us know how many you need, and, most importantly, how quickly you need it. Lead times from our suppliers vary considerably. With sufficient lead time, we can also have your patch made for you at very competitive prices. Please contact us for a quote!
